Hello, my name is James Burgess. I am the owner of B&B Garage. I have lived in Jackson County WV all my life. I have been a mechanic for more than 30 plus years. Honestly, I have been under a hood of a car as long as I could remember. I remember when I was 4 years old, I was sitting under the hood watching my dad work on a car and handing him tools. Then I started playing with my hot wheels cars. I would take them apart & try to put them back together. As I got older, I would work on the family tractor & vehicle. My grandpa Guy Wright owned his own business. He was a dairy farmer and would sell milk to locals. As I got older, I would help my grandpa on the dairy farm. Man, I really miss the taste of milk after milking the cows. Whenever a tractor or equipment broke down, we had to figure out how to fix it ourselves. When I was in high school, I took the vo-tech coarse on automotive. As I got older, I had jobs workings as a mechanic. Mostly heavy-duty diesel and auto. Then I worked on semi-trucks for several years. I started a semi-truck repair shop for a company in Charleston, WV. It started with just me and I built it up. When I decided to explore other options, they had several mechanics working for them. They were very successful. In between I have earned several certifications. I have my universal HVAC license. With universal you can work on any kind of HVAC system. I have certifications on brakes, inspection stickers & many other certifications. Later on, I worked for a place that sold used tractors and equipment. I worked there for about 5 to 6 years. I repaired all their tractors and equipment. I still work for them occasionally when they need help figuring out a problem. While I was working there, I decided to become a bus driver for Jackson County Schools. After about 2 years I became a full-time bus driver. I still work at Jackson County BOE as a bus driver. I really enjoy it. I will continue to be a bus driver for Jackson County Schools as long as I am able to. All the children on my bus hold a special place in my heart. I have talked about opening my own garage for many years. That is a big and scary step. That's my personal opinion anyways. I finally decided to open my own garage after something happened to my wife at another garage. That's a long story. B&B Garage officially open January 25, 2024. I am very excited to make this garage into what Jackson County needs. I have many goals for the future for B&B Garage.

OUR FAMILY: MY WIFE'S NAME IS AMANDA. WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED FOR 24 YEARS. SHE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. I HAVE THREE SONS AND A DAUGHTER. JADE IS MY FIRST BORN. SHE IS 28 YEARS OLD. HER BIRTHDAY IS 3/28/97. SHE WORKS HERE AT B&B. SHE IS A GREAT ASSET TO OUR TEAM. SHE WORKS ON INVENTARY, EVERYTHING IN THE OFFICE, HELPS ORGANIZE, HELPS DESIGN, HELPS ADVERTISE, HELPS WITH SOCIAL MEDIA, HELPS HAND ME TOOLS, AND WHATEVER ELSE I NEED HELP WITH. SHE IS GREAT! DOES ANYTHING I ASK OF HER. A JACK OF ALL TRADES. KODI-MY SECOND OLDEST. HE IS 22 YEARS OLD. HIS BIRTHDAY IS DECEMBER 5,2003. HE WAS A PREMIE WHEN HE WAS BORN. HE WAS OVER A MONTH EARLY. HE ATTENTED UNOH COLLEGE. HE WENT TO COLLEGE FOR DIESEL AND AUTO. HE HELPS US OUT IN BETWEEN HIS OTHER JOBS. I AM HOPING ONE DAY HE CAN WORK FULL TIME FOR US! HE IS SO SMART. HE IS A LITTLE HARDHEADED AND STUBORN LIKED HIS DADS, LOL. LEVI IS 17- HIS BIRTHDAY IS ON 9/11/08 HE IS A MECHANIC AND KNOWS AS MUCH AS A MECHANIC THAT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR YEARS. HE WILL BE ATTENDING COLLEGE AFTER HIS SENIOR YEAR IN 2027 AT UNOH. IT IS THE BEST MECHANIC SCHOOL IN THE US. KIDS TRAVEL THOUSANDS OF MILES TO ATTEND THIS SCHOOL. HE WILL BE SPECIALIZING IN AUTO AND DIESEL. MECHANICS. HE IS SUCH A MAJOR HELP HERE AT THE GARAGE BUT I KNOW HE WILL LEARN SO MUCH AT UNOH. HE WILL BE GETTING HIS STATE INSPECTION LICENCE IN BETWEEN ALL HIS CERTIFICATIONS AT UNOH. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO DO WITHOUT HIS HELP WHEN HE GOES TO COLLEGE! MY YOUNGEST IS DAVID. HE IS 16. HIS BIRTHDAY IS 3/25/10. HE IS THE BABY. HE HELPS AT THE GARAGE WHEN HE ISN'T HANGING OUT WITH HIS FRIENDS. HE WANTS TO BECOME A MECHANIC ONE DAY. I HOPE I CAN TEACH HIM AS MUCH AS I KNOW. HE CAN LEARN MORE WHEREVER HE DECIDES TO GO TO COLLEGE AT. GOD HAS BLESSED ME WITH SUCH A WONDERFUL WIFE, DAUGHTER, AND ALL 3 SONS. I AM ALSO BLESSED WITH RUBEL, TANK, SMOKE, BUTTERBALL, & LUNA. THEY ARE OUR PRECIOUS FUR BABIES. GOD HAD BLESSES US WITH SO MUCH!
This is one of my goals for B&B Garage. I want to build trust with Jackson County and surrounding areas. I want people to come to our garage without being worried. I know eventually we will build that trust. Trust is earned not given.
My second goal for B&B Garage. I want to grow so we can provide hands-on education, support our youth, & jobs opportunities for Jackson County. Hands-on education from garage helpers (basic mechanic skills), hands-on training for different types of mechanics, to apprenticeships. Creating job opportunities from office jobs, to mechanic, and more. I want high school students and adults to further their education without driving hours away or their only option is online. Being a small town there isn't a lot of different options. I want to expand those options. I know this might be a big dream than a goal, but it doesn't hurt to try. Help me to help grow Jackson County in the best way possible and provide education and job opportunities for our children's future and adults that want to go to school for these types of jobs. Some only learn through hands-on programs. Our children wouldn't have to travel far distances to have hands-on programs when they have a program right here at home. I know this is a big dream, but it is not impossible.
